February was another busy month for GG Dapp, another intense development cycle, events and collaborations. It’s time for GG DApp’s second sprint review!

SimThunder — Getting closer to Beta

February has brought us very close to the official launch of Simthunder’s initial Beta, the decentralised marketplace that enables sim racers to exchange sim racing items such as car parts and equipment, as well as NFTs that represent ownership of digital cars in private sim racing leagues. This is one of the core features of the Simracer Coin project, one of the first integrations in GG Dapp.

As we are nearing the completion of our participation in Cartesi Dapp Incubation program, our founder Miguel Gomes had an interview with the CEO of Cartesi, Erick De Moura. Check it out to find out more about the progress of the Cartesi powered Simthunder marketplace, NFTs and blockchain gaming.

Until the end of March we plan to release the initial Beta version of SimThunder.

Pirates 2048 — New version, tournament and NFTs

Progress has also been going on with our second project and GG Dapp integration, Pirates 2048. On Friday February 12th we launched the first new Beta version of 2021, with important fixes and improvements in the gameplay. To test it all out we a hosted our first tournament the year, an intense 1 hour sea battle. Murphy wasn’t invited so everything worked as expected!

February also saw us minting our first Pirates 2048’s NFTs in Matic (now Polygon) testnet. We are now finalising the introduction of the NFTs in main net and in the next Beta version of the game.

Growing the community

Telegram has been our main communication and marketing channel since the very beginning of the project. What started with a few hundred members has now grown into a community of thousands of people. This month AMA with Satoshi Club, which recap is available here, helped us to pass the 3000 members milestone.

February also marked our largest event sponsorhip so far, the iRacing Daytona 500! We sponsored several drivers that participated in one of the biggest sim racing eSport events of the year. Building strong relations and exposure among the sim racing community is an imporant aspect of the Simracer Coin project, and we aim to continue growing our partnerships and participation in important events.
